Physical Healing

People can get sick or injured or have some other form of physical ailment. Jesus wants to heal that person. Healing can come in a few ways:

  • Being anointed with oil and prayed for by elders (James 5:14, Mark 6:13)

  • Confessing sin (repentance) (James 5:16, Psalm 38:3)

  • Being delivered from an evil spirit (Matthew 9:32-33, 12:22-32, Luke 9:38-42)

  • Getting healed in Jesus name (Acts 3:6)

  • Believing that Jesus will heal you (Mark 5:25–34, Matthew 9:28)

  • Being healed by anointing (shadow, inanimate objects) (Acts 5:12-16, 19:12)

Living out of your spirit leads to the new life flowing into your soul, then into your body and giving it life (Proverbs 3:7-8, 14:30, 3 John 2, John 6:63).

Why Physical Healing Doesn’t Happen

  • No Faith: A lack of faith can prevent healing (Mark 6:5)

  • Delayed: God has something better to glorify Him (John 11)

  • Wrong Method: Not doing it the way that God wants (2 Kings 5, Mark 8:22-26)

Application

Individual: If you have an area in your body that needs healing, ask Jesus how He wants to heal you. This could be any of the points in the physical healing section or something totally new! If not sure the following is a recommendation:

  1. Invite or release the Holy Spirit’s presence or His healing/loving touch to the part of the body that requires healing

  2. In the name of Jesus, command the area to be healed

Group: Follow the above procedure, but with people praying for each other.

Tip: It is about God’s and your love for that person, avoid getting caught up in the wording
