Giving it All Up for Jesus

Jesus gave up everything for us! In the same way out of love we should live a life of complete surrender and willingness to give up everything for Him. The following are descriptions of a life surrendered:

• Renouncing everything we have (Luke 14:33, Philippians 3:8)

• Not loving our lives even unto death (Revelation 12:11, Romans 8:36)

• Willing to give up even family to follow Jesus (Luke 14:26, Matthew 12:50)

• Offering our bodies as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1)

• Lose our lives for Jesus & the gospel (Mark 8:35-37, Matthew 16:25)

• Count the cost (Luke 14:25–33)

• Obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Sam. 15:22, Proverbs 21:3, John 14:15)  

Here are some promises for those who give up everything:

• You will find life (Matthew 16:25, Mark 8:35)

• Receive a hundred fold (Matthew 19:29, Mark 10:29-31)

• You will be looked after (Matthew 6:33)
