False Teachers & Prophets

These are people who are knowingly trying to deceive the Lord’s children and people (there are some also unknowingly who do). They will do this as allies of the enemy and/or for the benefit of themselves. They will often first look like a follower in action. If you investigate the way they live their lives and their followers, it will be clear they focus on man, power, spiritual secrets. This is not living a life in love, repentance and relationship with Jesus which bears the fruit of the Spirit (Matthew 7:15-20, 24:24, John 15:4-5).

False Teachers

These are those who claim to teach truth and follow God. They will use scripture or half truths to get the Bible to say something other than the truth. They do this to gain a following or have people’s own desires affirmed. Often they will focus more on people, worldly things and spiritual mysteries which is not good. They should focus on Jesus, kingdom things, and living a holy life (2 Peter 3:16, Titus 1:10-11, 2 Timothy 4:3).

False Prophets

These are those who perform signs and wonders on the power of the enemy, which is also known as witchcraft. They also give messages that are lies, but claim that they are from God. They will often focus on the signs, wonders and spiritual mysteries and not on the Lord, His power, who He is, and His glory (2 Peter 2:1-3, 1 John 4:1-6).
