Deliverance from Demons

Deliverance was a part of Jesus’ ministry, it also was a part of the ministry of the early church (Luke 8:26-39, Acts 8:6-7). An important clarification is that people are not “possessed” by demons. People’s spirit, soul & body belong to them and they are made in the image of God. Rather people can become demonized. Meaning people can have demons living in them. Deliverance should only be done on those who are Christians. If done on someone who is not a Christian there is the risk that the demons will come back and make the person worse. Jesus is needed to fill the house with light and what is good. If Jesus is not present, there is no protection or authority as a believer to deal with demons (Matthew 12:22-32, Ephesians 4:27-29).
