Church
The Church is composed of all those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord. The Church’s goal is to bring the kingdom of God to the world and be an example of who Jesus is (Matthew 28:19-20, 1 Corinthians 12:27, John 15:34-35, 17:20-23, Ephesians 3:10). Church is entirely composed of people and is in no way related to a specific place or time. When 2 or more Christians gather together this is some of the Church and Jesus’ promise of being there (Matthew 18:20). The Church is often referred to as the bride/wife of Christ or as His body. This is meant to be an analogy on how the Church has a relationship with Him, How much He loves His church, and how the Church submits to Him (Ephesians 5:21-33, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, 2 Corinthians 11:2). Jesus also modeled how to have relationships with others within the Church as follows:
Very close group of 3 people (Matthew 17:1, 26:36-39)
A small group of 12 people (Matthew 10, Mark 3)
A large group of at least 82 (Luke 10, Acts 1:15)
Application
Individual: Ask God to connect you with fellow followers of Jesus you can do life with. Be open to the creative ways He will connect you!
Group: Go through the Church Function document together.
